SOUTHERN RIGHT WHALE WHITE CALF FROLICKS OFF WESTERN AUSTRALIA.
A Southern Right whale frolicks with it's rare white-coloured calf
(top) off the beach near the south-western town of Augusta, 300
kilometres south of Perth in Western Australia August 1, 2001. The
calf, estimated to be between four to six weeks old, played with it's
mother near the shore for hours as they travelled down the coast-line
late yesterday. The township of Augusta is well known for it's
excellent whale watching due to it's location at the most south-western
point of Australia.
