ELDERLY FALUN GONG PRACTITIONER WAITS TO JOIN MEMORIAL MARCH IN SYDNEY.
An elderly Australian-based Falun Gong practitioner waits outside the
Chinese consulate with other practitioners in Sydney before a march
through city streets August 23, 2001. Falun Gong members were to begin
a 256-hour-long vigil dedicated to practitioners who they claim have
been killed by persecution and incarceration in a Chinese labour camp.
The march and vigil is part of a worldwide appeal to draw attention to
the plight of Falun Gong practitioners in China.
