INJURED HUMPBACK WHALE PASSES YACHTSMAN IN SYDNEY HARBOUR.
An injured humpback whale, showing cuts and lacerations on its back, surfaces in Sydney Harbour as a yachtsman spectator approaches inside the 100 meter no-go zone June 27, 2001. The whale has taken shelter in the harbour after wildlife officers say it was probably injured by the propeller of a ship or large boat. The National Parks and Wildlife body has stated that all vessels and onlookers must stay more than 100 metres away from migrating whales frequently passing off the coast of Sydney at this time of the year.
