AN AUSTRALIAN LITTLE PENGUIN IS RELEASED INTO SYDNEY HARBOUR.
A Little Penguin is released by Taronga Zoo's Libby Hall back into Sydney Harbour April 6, 2001, after being treated for injuries and dehyration. Two of the native Australian penguins were brought to the Zoo's Wildlife Clinic over four weeks ago after one was found under a Rolls-Royce car and the other was tangled in fishing line and hooks. Once quite common in Sydney Harbour, the number of penguins have diminished due to coastal development, pollution and attacks by dometic pets.
