U.S. SAILORS STAND ON THE DECK OF THE USS KITTY HAWK AS IT ARRIVES IN SYDNEY.
Sailors aboard the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk stand on deck as the 40-year-old ship enters Sydney Harbour near the Sydney Opera House May 24, 2001. The Kitty Hawk is the U.S. Navy's oldest active ship, and its crew of about 5,000 have been participating in defence exercises in Queensland, Australia. They will also participate in the 50th anniversary of the signing of the ANZUS Treaty - the formal Australian, U.S. and New Zealand security alliance - during their five-day visit.
