Crew members sit atop the masts of a replica of the famous 18th century ship The Endeavour in Botany Bay. Crew members sit atop the masts of a replica of the famous 18th century ship The Endeavour, in which famous British explorer Captain James Cook discovered Australia, as it sits anchored in Botany Bay after hitting a sand-bank April 17, 2005. A large flotilla of more than a hundred small craft were waiting to welcome the ship and her crew into Sydney Harbour after their five-month sea voyage from the United Kingdom, but it has been anchored in the bay most of the day for inspection of the hull for any damage that may have resulted from running aground.
