A worker drives a reed mower at a frozen water expanse at Neusiedler See (lake Neusiedl) near Illmitz, some 80 kilometres (50 miles) east of Vienna, February 3, 2012. Neusiedler See is an endorheic lake with a surface of 285 square kilometres and with around 178 square kilometres Lake Neusiedl has the largest reed belt in Europe besides the Danube delta. The harvested reed is mainly exported, the biggest part to the Netherlands. The area with its unique fauna and flora called 'cultural landscape Fertoe/Neusiedler See' was announced UNESCO world heritage in 2001.
