A helicopter returns to Galtuer after the first rescue attempt was cancelled due to bad weather conditions December 29. A group of 10 German off-piste trekkers, who climbed the mountain with the help of fur-bottomed skis, were struck by an avalanche on Tuesday in the Jam valley that leads into Galtuer. Nine people have been killed and another woman injured in the incident.
