At least 150 people were killed on Saturday when an Austrian funicular train packed with skiers was trapped in a tunnel and destroyed by a fire so fierce it left almost nothing behind but twisted metal. Eight passengers escaped from the funicular train, which was trapped deep inside the 3,200-metre Kitzsteinhorn mountain southwest of the city of Salzburg.
