THAI DRUG CAMPAIGNER RECEIVES AWARD IN VIENNA.
Ameena Beedillae, who has been campaigning against drug addiction and related crime in Bangkok, receives an award from Swedish Queen Silvia in Vienna's city hall December 5, 2000. The award was presented by the UN in Vienna, along with the Austrian government and the City of Vienna and honoured two individuals and two organizations for their "outstanding contributions to the global campaign against drug trafficking, organized crime and terrorism". The other award-winners were the Fundacion Pais Libre from Columbia, "Les Amis des Drogues" from Chad and Roger Lewis posthumously from the UK.
