A visitor uses a monocular to look at a painting by Italian master
Giovanni Bellini in 1500, "Portrait of a man", at the opening of an
exhibition in Bruges, March 15, 2002. The exhibition, Jan Van Eyck
Flemish primitives and the South, a part of Bruges 2002 European
Cultural Capital, shows 130 paintings illustrating the influence of the
Flemish primitives during the 15th and 16th century. It runs through
