A llama fetus is seen during celebrations in honour of "Pachamama" (mother earth) in La Cumbre
A llama fetus is seen during celebrations in honour of "Pachamama" (mother earth) in La Cumbre, some 30 km (19 miles) on the outskirts of La Paz August 1, 2011. According to Andean culture, the month of August is the time to give offerings to "Pachamama" (mother earth). For these rituals, the Aymaras make offerings with coca leaves, candies, animal fat, llama fetuses, some dry fruits, powdered minerals and alcohol. The indigenous give thanks for their farms and their health. REUTERS/David Mercado (BOLIVIA - Tags: RELIGION SOCIETY ANIMALS)
