The Iranian booth stands empty following boycott of Frankfurt book fair
The Iranian booth stands empty following a boycott during the Frankfurt book fair, Germany October 15, 2015. The Iranian Ministry of Culture cancelled its national stand at this year's book fair because of an appearance by writer Salman Rushdie. Rushdie, the subject of an Iranian death threat in 1989 for his book "The Satanic Verses", which was deemed blasphemous by many Muslims, delivered the keynote address at the opening press conference of the world's largest book fair on Tuesday.
