A NATO soldier prepares the flag of the new 35,000-strong Stabilisation Force (SFOR), which will police the Dayton peace accord for 18 months, taking over form the Implementation Force (IFOR), December 20 during a military ceremony in Sarajevo. NATO's supreme commander in Europe, General George-Joulwan said in a speech the new force would work to solidify the fragile peace.
