Yasmin lies on her bed during Children's Day at a hospital in Rio de Janeiro
Yasmin Maria, 10, lies on her bed during Children's Day at a hospital in Rio de Janeiro October 12, 2011. Yasmin is a devotee of Our Lady of Aparecida, Brazil's national saint, who is also regarded as the protector of children and is venerated every October 12 when the country celebrates Children's Day. Yasmin's faith in the saint has increased after being diagnosed with cancer on her left leg and has been in treatment since January 2011. In July, she had her leg amputated, and is undergoing chemotherapy to stop the disease. REUTERS/Ricardo Moraes (BRAZIL - Tags: HEALTH SOCIETY RELIGION)
