INAUGURATION IN BRASILIA.
Members of the Brazilian religious sect "Sons of Gandhi" pray in front
of the Brasilia Cathedral on December 31, 2002, one day before the
inauguration of Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva as the country's president.
More than 150,000 people from all over the country are expected to
gather here on New Year's Day for the historic swearing in of the
former metalworker as president of Brazil's 170 million people.
