Policemen escort a large group of hostages from the inside of the Sorocaba Detention Center after they were set free by inmates in Sorocaba December 31. The women and children were a part of the group of more than 600 hostages that were being held by inmates of the prison for four days. Riot police seized control of the prison on Wednesday ending a tense three-day standoff without firing a single shot.
