AN ARTIST RENDERING OF THE TALLEST BUILDING TO BE BUILT IN SAO PAULO.
An artist's rendering of the world's tallest building, which Brazilian entrepeneur Mario Garnero in a joint venture with the Maharishi Global Development Fund of the Netherlands announced plans to build in South Americas's biggest city, Sao Paulo. The $1.65 billion building would be 494 meters (1,622-foot), taller than the Petronas twin towers in Kuala, Malaysia, currently the tallest in the world. The building is to occupy 1.3 million square meters (1.6 million square yards) in the center of a rampant drug trade area where homeless teen-agers are often seen squatting on the sidewalks smoking crack cocaine.
