Royal Ulster Constabulary police in riot gear face nationalist during
riots in North Belfast pior to a Orange order parade passing a
nationalist catholic area, on the "The Twelfth of July", the climax of
the Protestant "marching season" in, Northern Ireland, July 12, 2001. A
number of police officers were injured during a late evening series of
riots close to the Crumlin road. Pro-British Protestants held parades
all over Northern Ireland to commemorate the victory of William of
Orange over Roman Catholic King James at The Battle of the Boyne in
1690.
