Northern Ireland RUC police watch Orangemen pass a Catholic district
during riots on the Crumlin road, North Belfast, July 12, 2001. Dozens
of police officers were hurt during disturbances at the Ardoyne,
moments before an Orange Order parade passed, on the "The Twelfth of
July", the climax of the Protestant "marching season" in, Northern
Ireland. Pro-British Protestants held parades all over Northern Ireland
to commemorate the victory of William of Orange over Roman Catholic
King James at The Battle of the Boyne in 1690.
