A fisherman casts his line in Loch Tay at Kenmore in Scotland, on the opening day of the salmon season January 15, 2001. The first Scottish salmon of this year was caught today and immediately released back into the waters of the River Tay, although there were fears that dwindling salmon stocks might mean a blank start to the salmon season, but this has been proved unfounded as fishermen landed fish just 15 minutes after their first cast.
