Mainstream political parties on Monday condemned the electoral success of the far-right British National Party after it won its first two seats in the European Parliament. The BNP took a 6.2 percent share of the national vote, in sixth place behind the Greens, Liberal Democrats, Labour, the UK Independence Party (UKIP) and the Conservatives, who topped the polls with 28 percent.
