GERMAN PROFESSOR VON HAGENS PERFORMS PUBLIC AUTOPSY IN LONDON.
Germany's Professor Gunther von Hagens (R) performs a public autopsy on
a 72 year old man in front of an audience at the Atlantis gallery in
London November 20, 2002. Von Hagens is carrying out the first public
post-mortem examination in Great Britain since the 1830s despite being
threatened with arrest after Her Majesty's Inspector of Anatomy ruled
on November 19 that he did not have a licence to carry out the autopsy.
