A section of track from the notorious Thai-Burma Railway is lowered
into position at the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas,
Staffordshire, January 8, 2002. The memorial has been created to
commemorate the suffering of those who built the railway, including
almost 22,000 Allied prisoners of war of the Japanese who died during
