The winner of the 2003 Mercury Music Awards British garage MC Dizzee
Rascal arrives at the event in London, for which his album 'Boyz in da
Corner' won the album of the year award, September 9, 2003. Albums by
12 acts, including eight debuts, were nominated for the 20,000 pounds
($31,670) Mercury Music prize at the 12th annual ceremony in London
which saw judges announce the winner as Dizzee Rascal from a shortlist
which covered such diverse styles as rock, garage, soul, jazz and folk.
