A BRITISH ARMY SOLDIER STANDS AS BARRICADES ARE ERECTED NEARBY IN THE
FIELDS AROUND DRUMCREE CHURCH....
A soldier from the British army stands in the fields around Drumcree
church, Portadown, Northern Ireland, July 5, 2003 as barriers are
erected nearby. Soldiers from the First Battalion of the Devonshire and
Dorset Regiment erected the defences on Saturday ahead of the
contentious Drumcree Orange parade, traditionally taking place the
Sunday before July 12th. The Parades Commission has again banned
Orangemen from marching down the mainly Catholic Garvachy road, which
has previously led to violence between marchers and security forces in
their attempt to do so. REUTERS/Toby Melville
