Gotse Delchev, Bulgaria
Bulgarian Nevse Molalieva (L) works at a sewing machine during her training course in a sewing factory in Gotse Delchev, some 200km (118 miles) south of Sofia May 9, 2013. Eurostat shows that Bulgaria's youth unemployment rate is among the highest in the European Union but German businessman Bertram Rollman has found a way to give the young women in the small southern Bulgarian village of Ribnovo, neighbouring Gotse Delchev, better job prospects -- a dual education system popular in his native Germany. Rollman owns the sewing factory which provides training for some 40 young people, including Molalieva, equipping them with skills for an edge during job hunts. Fighting unemployment and poverty are priorities for almost every political party running for the next parliament in the country's elections on May 12, after mass protests against widespread corruption and low-living standards toppled the ruling centre-right government in February.
