Bulgarians in animal costumes dance to call for good health and harvests in the coming year at the village of Jardjilovtsi, some 50 km west of Sofia, January 14. The dancers are celebrating both the Gypsy New Year and Vassilev Den, the Eastern Orthodox festival of men called Vassil.
