IMMIGRANTS SPEAK UP FOR LINDA CHAVEZ.
Linda Chavez (R) and her husband Chris (right rear) listen to Ada Iturrino speak during a press conference in the presidential transition office in Washington January 9, 2001. Chavez, President-elect George W. Bush's nominee for labor secretary, withdrew her name from consideration for the cabinet post today, in the first major set back for the Republican's transition process. Iturrino, along with her son Josh (2nd L), and her daughter Celenia, are immigrants who spoke highly of Chavez as a good person who helped them a great deal.
