US President Bush announces nomination of Hayden to head CIA at White House in Washington
U.S. President George W. Bush announces his nomination of General Michael Hayden (R) to head the CIA at the White House in Washington May 8, 2006. Bush on Monday nominated the Air Force general as CIA chief, setting up a likely battle with some members of the U.S. Congress over having a military man head the civilian spy agency. If confirmed by the Senate, Hayden will replace Porter Goss who resigned under pressure on Friday. REUTERS/Kevin Lamarque
