U.S. President George W. Bush and German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder (R) await the start of their talks in the Electors Palace in the western German city of Mainz February 23, 2005. Bush arrived in Germany on Wednesday for talks with Schroeder on a range of thorny issues from climate change and Iran to a controversial German call to overhaul NATO. On the second leg of a three-nation European tour designed to patch up differences over the Iraq war, Bush is expected to seal a symbolic deal with Schroeder on bolstering energy efficiency and curbing global warming.
