WIDOW OF POL POT WATCHES REFUGEES LEAVE PHU NOI CAMP IN THAILAND.
Mea Son (R), widow of the late Khmer Rouge leader Pol Pot, watches fellow Cambodian refugees leaving Phu Noi refugee camp at the Thai-Cambodian border, 500 km north east of Bangkok January 12. The child at left has been identified by the Thai military as the teenaged daughter of the reviled dictator. The woman in the centre is unidentified. About 400 refugees, the first group of Khmer Rouge dependents, returned to Cambodia after their leaders Khieu Samphan and Nuon Chea defected to the Phnom Penh government last month.
