Ballard Power Systems CEO Firoz Rasul walks past the latest Phase 4 Pre-Commercial fuel cell bus, July 6, at Ballards head office in Burnaby, British Columbia. The engine, built by Xcellsis and powered by Ballard fuel cells, delivers 275 HP, is half the weight of the Phase 3 engine and will be used in field trials in Palm Springs and Oakland, California. A commercial engine is expected by 2002.
