One of six Canadian CF-18 fighters is refueled by a French Air Force KC-135 over the Atlantic Ocean while returning home to CFB Bagotville in Quebec, December 22, 2000. The aircraft are returning to Canada from the NATO Base in Aviano following Canada's decision to end it's two year contribution to NATO's peacekeeping efforts in the Balkans. The Canadian Air Force mission began in June 1998 when Canada sent six CF-18s and approximately 125 people to Aviano to help enforce a no-fly zone over Bosnia. At the height of NATO's 79-day air campaign in Kosovo, which took place between March and June 1999, up to 300 Canadian Forces personnel and 18 CF-18s were employed. (CREDIT REUTERS/Capt.
