Team Austria's Brice and Lubinger work on their ice sculpture 'The Ride to Luebeck' during ICEART 2004 World Championships in Luebeck. Team Austria's Steve Brice (R) from Fairbanks, Alaska, and Hannes Lubinger work on their ice sculpture 'The Ride to Luebeck' depicting a mermaid and dolphins during the ICEART 2004 World Championships in the northern German Baltic coastal town of Luebeck December 9, 2004. Thirty artists from 15 countries took part in a competition which requires they create an artwork from 16 blocks of ice, each weighing 135 kg (297 lb) and measuring one metre (3.28 feet) in height, 50 cm (19.69 inches) in width and 25 cm (9.8 inches) in depth, within 30 hours. The 2nd International Festival of Ice and Snow sculptures 'Ice World' in Luebeck opens to the public December 10, 2005 to January 23, 2005 showing sculptures made of some 400.000 kilos of ice by international artists.
