Tourists walks between the geysers and hot springs of El Tatio on March 23, 2005. El Tatio Geyser Field (known as Los Geisers del Tatio) is located within the Andes Mountains in the Atacama Desert, Chile, at 4,200 meters above sea level and 1800 kilometers north of Santiago. With over 80 active geysers, El Tatio is the largest geyser field in the southern hemisphere and the third largest field in the world, following Yellowstone, USA and Dolina Giezerov, Russia.
