PINOCHET SUPPORTERS PROTEST AGAINST BELGIAN GOVERNMENT OUTSIDE BELGIAN EMBASSY.
A supporter of General Augusto Pinochet stands behind the Chilean flag during a protest outside the Belgian embassy in Santiago, February 22. A Belgian judge has concluded, based on a British medical report, that Pinochet is fit to stand trial on charges of torture but that he wanted more medical tests. Belgium is one of the four countries seeking the former leaders extradition to face torture charges related to his 1973-1990 rule in Chile. The signs in the back read:"Chile says no to colonialism," and "Augusto Pinochet Ugarte, welcome to your homeland.
