PINOCHET SUPPORTERS MOURN SUPREME COURT RULING.
Supporters of former Chilean leader mourn the Supreme Court ruling in Santiago, August 8, 2000, which stripped former Chilean leader Augusto Pinochet of his immunity from prosecution, paving the way for charges of alleged human rights abuses to be filed against him. The court's 20 judges voted 14-6 against Pinochet's keeping his shield from prosecution as a senator in the upper house of Chile's congress, the court announced.
