Protesters demand the release of Tan Zuoren outside the Chinese liaison office in Hong Kong
Protesters demand the release of Tan Zuoren outside the Chinese liaison office in Hong Kong June 9, 2010. Tan, a Chinese activist who sought to document shoddy construction that contributed to deaths in China's devastating 2008 earthquake was sentenced to five years in prison for subversion in February. A mainland court has upheld a five year jail term for Tan, who appealed against the sentence imposed earlier this year, Hong Kong's government radio reported on Wednesday.
