CHINESE WORKERS DISMANTLE "BREAD BOX" TAXIS AT THE CAPITAL IRON AND STEEL PLANT.
Chinese workers dismantle yellow "bread box" taxis at the Capital Iron and Steel Plant in Beijing before melting them down as scrap iron December 29. More than 10,000 smoke-belching motor vehicles, most of them "bread box" taxis, were taken off the road by the municipal authorities and will be melted down at the plant to reduce pollution. The taxis are nicknamed "bread boxes" as they look like loaves of bread.
