Beijing plans to invest some 400 billion yuan ($48.33 billion) in building around 30 new nuclear reactors by 2020, the head of the China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) said on Monday. China currently has nine working reactors generating around 2.3 percent of its electricity, but aims to boost the proportion of power it gets from the greenhouse-gas-free energy source to 4 percent within 15 years.
