United States Under Secretary of Commerce David Aaron speaks at a news briefing in Beijing July 27. Aaron said his talks with China's Foreign Minister of Trade Shi Guangsheng and other officials were "cordial, positive and constructive" and that China had agreed to host a bilateral commercial gathering in the autumn. Aaron said that China had given no sign it was ready to resume talks with Washington on entry into the World Trade Organisation (WTO) which China suspended over NATO's bombing of its Belgrade embassy.
