The Wider Image: Christmas wishes from Santas around the world
Aquarium curator and manager Daniel de Castro, 45, poses for a photograph in his everyday clothing next to the main fish tank at the Malta National Aquarium in Qawra, Malta, December 2, 2020. De Castro from Madrid, Spain, has been dressing up as a scuba-diving Father Christmas at aquariums in several countires for the past 20 years. Unable to travel back to Spain to spend Christmas Day with his extended family because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, he plans to get together with his family via the internet over dinner. It will be very different Christmas from the norm - he's disappointed not to be able to meet his family and friends in person, but prefers not to take any risks - "I'm staying away and hope to have a proper Christmas a few months down the line." His Christmas message is clear: "Stay safe, keep all measures in place and this will be over soon. Next year will be better. Don't rush this Christmas or you won't have any more Christmases after that." REUTERS/Darrin Zammit Lupi SEARCH "GLOBAL SANTA" FOR THIS STORY. SEARCH "WIDER IMAGE" FOR ALL STORIES
