CLINTON ARRIVES FOR MEDICARE NEWS CONFERENCE.
President Clinton walks down the grand foyer of the White House June 29 on his way to delivering a speech on renewing the nation's Medicare plan. Under Clinton's plan, older or disabled Americans would initially pay a premium of $24 a month if they want to take advantage of the new $2,000-a-year drug benefit, with the cost of the premium increasing in future years.
