BUDDY THE WHITE HOUSE DOG ROMPS WITH BALL.
Buddy, the chocolate retriever once seen bounding around the White
House gardens with former President Bill Clinton, was killed by a car
near the Clintons' home in Chappaqua, New York, police said January 3,
2002. A police officer said the dog was hit on January 2, but it was
not clear whether it was being walked at the time or had wandered off
the property. Buddy romps through the fountain on the South Lawn after
successfully chasing down a tennis ball prior to a departure by
President Clinton from the White House on April 22, 1999. REUTERS/Gary
