CIVILIAN CONTRACTOR PREPARES EXPLOSIVES FOR DEMOLITION OF MISSILE SITE.
A civilian contractor prepares explosives prior to the destruction of a
Minuteman III missile silo in the North Dakota countryside near the
town of Petersburg, August 24, 2001. H-22 was the 149th and last silo
to be dismantled and imploded under the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty
I signed by then U. S. President George Bush and Soviet President
Mikhail Gorbachev in July of 1991.
