Bertrand Collomb, the Chairman of the French building materials giant Lafarge, announces a merger with Britain's Blue Circle, the World's sixth largest cement and building materials company, during a press conference in Paris early January 8, 2001. Lafarge will become the Worlds's largest in this field.
