At least 31 people were killed, including policemen, a mayor, a mother and her three children, when Marxist rebels stormed two neighbouring villages over the weekend. Hundrerds of FARC (Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia) guerrillas rained down home-made missiles and machine-gun fire on Bellavista in northwest Choco province and Vigia del Fuerte in Antioquia province.
