COFFINS OF TWO PEASANTS ARE CARRIED BY RESIDENTS IN BAJO GRANDE AFTER A MASSACRE.
The coffins of two peasants, killed in a massacre, are carried by resident of Bajo Grande, Bolivar province, February 21, during a fresh upsurge in paramilitary attacks against guerrillas an their suspected sympathizers. After five-day between Marxist rebels and their ultra-right paramilitary rivals in northern Colombia killed up to 28 people, military sources said. Last week, the government said it was prepared to hand over the control of an area of Bolivar to the National Liberation Army (ELN), colombia's second largest rebel group, to kick-start peace talks.
