This spray painted memorial for the late R&B singer Aaliyah Haughton, photographed on August 29, 2001, appears on the side of a building on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York. The pilot of a small plane that crashed in the Bahamas killing the rising star pleaded no contest to cocaine possession and three other felony charges 12 days before the August 25 crash.
